Whisk(e)y Comparison: Talisker 10 v Connemara Peated
Watch the Video
Ireland value whiskey versus the Isle of Skye legend, both single malts, both with a nice hint of peat and sea air.
45.8% ABV - Salty sea air mixes with pear and smoke on the nose. The richness comes through on the palate. Burnt smoke, black pepper and the pear returns with some apple on the finish.
CONNEMARA PEATED SINGLE MALT
40% ABV - The whiskey costs $28 less, so that it doesn't quite measure up is less of a concern if you're on a tight budget.
Nice effort by the Emerald Isle and looking forward to more single malts coming from the Republic of Ireland in the future. It is really similar to Talisker in a few ways.
